How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Although not everyone needs therapy to live a fulfilling life, I would suggest that most people would benefit from having the space to understand themselves and their lives more fully. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute phone or video call to answer any questions, or you can book an initial assessment session. This will give you a sense of how I work and how therapy might feel, and there is no commitment to continue if you decide it’s not for you.
Will I feel better?
The process of therapy is as individual as you are. Although, over the course of therapy, things will start to change and improve, it is possible that you might feel worse before you feel better as you begin to explore things that might never have seen the light of day before.
How often will I come to therapy?
We will meet at the same time each week. The weekly rhythm of therapy is important and enables the process to unfold and progress from one session to the next.
Will I have to pay for missed sessions?
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with less notice, you will need to pay for the session.
How long does therapy last?
Again, this is very individual. I can offer time-limited therapy for those who have a specific goal or area that they would like to work on. However, therapy often continues for several months or even years depending on the complexity and nature of the issue. It is important that you know that you can end therapy at any time. However, I ask that we have a minimum of two ending sessions to do justice to the work that has been done.
